You By: Caroline Kepnes Book Review

About the Book2

When a beautiful, aspiring writer strides into the East Village bookstore where Joe Goldberg works, he does what anyone would do: he googles the name on her credit card. There is only one Guinevere Beck in New York City. She has a public Facebook account and tweets incessantly, telling Joe everything he needs to know; she is simply Beck to her friends, she went to Brown University, she lives on Bank Street, and she’ll be at a bar in Brooklyn tonight-the perfect place for a ‘chance’ meeting. As Joe invisibly and obsessively takes control of Beck’s life, he orchestrates a series of events to ensure Beck finds herself in his waiting arms. Moving from a stalker to boyfriend, Joe transform himself into Beck’s perfect man, all while quietly removing the obstacles that stand in their way-even if it means murder.

This is a messed up book about a boy who obsesses over a girl by hacking into her emails, and following her every move, very creepy!  To one day insert himself fully into her life without her even realizing that he has been following her, stalking her, standing outside her apartment!

Caroline did an amazing job with the writing I really did enjoy it and it had me hooked. It sickens me to say but at times I was rooting for them to be together even though he came into her life in a very creepy way! I guess this book had me going a little crazy! But towards the ending of the book I can’t say I didn’t see it coming, because I kinda of did, but the outcome was a surprise!

This is a great psychological thriller perfect for Halloween!

I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars!
