Synopsis:
After suffering a family tragedy, Mack Phillips spirals into a deep depression that causes him to question his innermost beliefs. Facing a crisis of faith, he receives a mysterious letter urging him to an abandoned shack in the Oregon wilderness. Despite his doubts, Mack journeys to the shack and encounters an enigmatic trio of strangers led by a women named Papa. Through this meeting, Mack finds important truths that will transform his understanding of his tragedy and change his life forever.
Mack goes through this terrible tragedy that he feels nothing/or anyone can take the pain away that he is feeling. Then he gets this letter to go to The Shack, the one place he vowed to never think about, or go to, but this letter is signed Papa which this name is very near and dear to his heart, At least is once was! So why does this person want him to go back to the one place he vowed to never go to? Mack not letting go of this feeling he decides to go, and what awaits him is unimagined! Will Mack ever be the same again?
Overview:
I loved this book it was so well written, and the characters I can’t even begin to explain I feel in love with them. The author was so detailed about the surrounded ares, the characters. I actually read this book in two days. The way he tells the story you just want to keep reading!
Cons:
The only con I have is this one question which took a little longer that I wanted I was so invested that I just wanted them to answer the question.
Pros:
This story felt so real to me at times that I could picture these places so clear in my mind, especially the characters, the love, the reasoning behind everything all made sense to me once I reached the end it was so heart filling. The descriptions that the author uses almost made me feel that this place actually existed.
My Final Thoughts:
WOW!!!! This book had every emotion I have come out I felt anger, sad, happy, love, excited sometimes all at once, but in a good way! This story has such an amazing message for anyone at any age, it gives us hope that even in your darkest moment in life there is light and hope in overcoming it. I give this book a five star such an inspirational book and very well written. Good Job to the author!
